Potluck #55 Getting the Most out of Facebook

I opened a Facebook account! The real question is: Will my kids let me be their friend? I actually was excited to seepeople I knew when I lifeguarded 25 years ago. I looking foward to connect with them again and see how they are doing. I looked at some of the applications and so far nothing interested me. It brought back memories of when the kids would feed their online pets. AAGH! I think I'll try it for a little while and see how it goes. Last, I found the 10 Privacy Setting Every Facebook User Should Know helpful.

Potluck #56 To Tweet or not to Tweet...Twitter

Twitter: This exercise coincide with my husband getting on Twitter while preparing for his spaceflight. Personally I don't think I would use Twitter much. I do enjoy following Astro_Mike and also a friend who climbing Mount Everest. But I can't imagine commenting on my life a few times a day...I don't have time . But I did sign up and now I have two followers.

#39 Wellness

After exploring Nutrition Data ( I even tried twice) I found I really didn't enjoy that website. I don't believe my food is inflammatory/non-inflammatory and if I had to think about balancing that out everyday I would go crazy. I enjoyed the recipes from this sight especially since alot of the sauces, marinades etc used healthier alternative ingredients. Last, I sure many people enjoy seeing how many calories a Big Mac has but try not to eat alot of fast food. I went on SparkRecipes and enjoyed that website more. I put in my recipe for Pasta alla Norma
Ingredients:
Olive Oil, 4 tbsp (remove)
Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) (remove)

Wellness #40: Fitness

Using the fitness calculators, I happily found out my BMI was 22.9. On the other hand my daily calorie requirements was only 694. Which means my daily life is too sedentary. I don't expect to be Michael Phelps and burn 4,000 calories each workout, but I was surprised to see how little I do burn everyday. I enjoyed reading the suggestions on the The Walking Site. I walk for exercise now and it gave some good ideas to change up me workout. The questionnaire has me living to 100 and my health age at 25. While I don't feel like I'm 25 I think I blessed some good genes. So I guess my goals are to intensify my workouts 2-3 times a week. I also think that portable bicycles could be installed under our desks in reference to burn some calories while we work!

Spring Cleaning

Ah! Spring is in the air!

A trip into the hill country and I felt motivated to clean out my email account. I attended Janette's quick review on files and folders. Then, I proceeded to set files for Schedules and Training.

Looks alot better already.

This is my first "post". I had set up my blog but then never posted anything on it. My excuse was I never have time but in reality something about blogging makes me uncomfortable. Tonight, I decided to break out and try it!
